MTN charging what they like without notifying their clients prior contract expiry

It's been absolute hell getting any kind of resolution from either the MTN call center or their customer care.

I've had mobile internet home contract for the past two years with MTN that went on month to month starting end of May 2024. They made NO attempt to contact me prior to the contract ending in order to advise me of billing increases. My monthly bill shot up from R615.14 all the way to R1584.00.

An MTN branch advised me a month earlier that there would not be any increase to the monthly amount. I was more than happy to continue on month to month as long as the amount stayed the same.

The call center can't do anything, and they are now blaming it on the branch. I doubt the branch can do anything about it.

This is highly ********* and potentially ******* business practice. A client cannot be liable to pay an amount that they have not been informed about.

I am highly frustrated and cannot believe the sheer lack of client service on the part of MTN. I have emailed *** with the previous correspondence from customer care. Let's see what happens.

Absolutely disgusting.
