MTN charging for services not contracted for
MTN has been charging me for data usage that I did not contract with them for. On a top-up package they apparently gave me an uncapped line (who knew that even existed) and have charged me thousands of Rands for data even though I was having to top-up in the same time period. The Consumer Protection Act says it is ******* to charge for services not agreed to. I did not agree to these charges.

I have de-activated one of the SIM cards (I have 3 contracts) and am left paying for a service that I cannot even use.

I have sent many e-mails and made many calls but after more than a month am still waiting for MTN to:
Refund the charges
Acknowledge that I am not renewing my contract
Acknowledge the last date I will be debited
Acknowledge that I have de-activated the SIM

The only action I received was getting my invoices (they'd captured the wrong e-mail address). So now I know why they were charging so much. Beforehand, I didn't even know that!

This has to be the worst cellular provider in South Africa!!! I am moving all my contracts to another provider as soon as they expire.
Thank you for your post,
We apologise for the delayed response and for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Please note that the charges on the data line were investigated and they were found to be correct, also note that the line is an open line this means once the 2Gb provisioned is depleted to you will be charged on out of bundle rate. Also note that the number ending 6880, also incurred charges because the limit on the account was set on 04-06-2014 therefore all charges incurred before then are valid.
With regard to the cancellation and email has been sent to you, please response so that we can assist with the cancellation.
Thank you
