MTN charging for non-existent service *******ly refusing swap for broken router
MTN charging for non-existent service *******ly refusing swap for broken router I am writing this to force a response from MTN Head Office management as their customer care lines are unusable and local store staff are breaking consumer law.
Billed for No Service: In August, I paid upfront pro-rata fees for a Fixed LTE contract. MTN failed to deliver the router for the entire month of August, pocketing my money without rendering any service.
Billed Again for September: I have now been billed for September, despite still having zero internet access.
Delivered Broken: The router finally arrived this week (early September) and was completely defective/broken straight out of the box.
******* Store Refusal: I took the broken router to the MTN store. Staff confirmed the SIM was active but the hardware was broken. Instead of swapping it under the 7-day Dead on Arrival (DOA) policy, they refused to replace it. They demand to send a brand-new, broken device away for 7 to 14 working days for "repairs." Under Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), I have the right to an immediate replacement or refund for a defective product. Forcing a repair on a device that arrived broken this week is *******.
I demand an immediate reversal of my August funds, a billing credit for September, and an urgent replacement router delivered to my door.
