Mtn charged me a cancellation fee of R2499 for a month to month when there is no cancellation fee for a month to month.

I took out a home router and the agent I was speaking with did not tell me that my address had no coverage, instead she wrote down a different address so that she can make commission. After that the router was not working at my address, I then decided to cancel it only a month after getting the router, that is where I was told that there is no coverage at my address. The lady at the store told me that she was going to process the cancellation for me and it wouldn’t be a problem because there is no cancellation for a month to month.

But when she tried to do the cancellation it showed that I had to pay a cancellation fee of R2499, mind you I have only had the router for a month. I called the MTN helpline and the lady I spoke with told me to call when I am at the store because there isn’t supposed to be a cancellation fee for a month to month and ahead doesn’t know how is it that I am being charged a cancellation fee.

So basically no one knows how am I being charged the cancellation fee but I am expected to pay for it.
