MTN changed my Top Up to Open Line *******LY

Hi,

My name is Malatsi. Around May/June 2012 I started a contract with MTN via telemarketing. I got an Ipad device with 2GB of data for 24 months. The contract was OPEN LINE until December 2014. A total of around 30 months. Extra 6 months was on month to month basis. Beginning of Jan 2015 I migrated to Top Up and kept my Ipad. The migration was via telemarketing as well. For the first 6 months after migration, all was well and I was paying R119/month. I got shocked in July 2015 when MTN billed me R1939. I queried the bill via e-mails and calls but no response from MTN Customer Care. I even went to various MTN stores but couldn’t get help still. I got billed again for August and September 2015 but then I reversed the payments. I kept on querying and it took more than 9 months for MTN to respond. I was now told my query has been escalated to their legal department and they now listed me on credit bureau. Can you believe it? In the midst of seeking clarity, straight in credit bureau with no pre-warning. MTN legal department claims that no migration was done and the contract was unchanged and I am now liable for the bills I reversed. If what they say was the truth, at any given time my monthly bill shouldn’t have been reduced to R119 per month. ABSOLUTELY NOT for an Ipad and 2GB/month even though 24 months elapsed. The contract should have continued for another six months on a month to month basis, similarly to “extra 6 months” aforementioned. It would have been a total of extra 12 months on a month to month basis. I requested my contract which they claim never changed, two months back and I am still waiting. The number in query is ********** . I still have the e-mails and payment amounts. I don’t know what to do anymore. I need my name to be cleared at credit buareu and my money back. Please help!!
