MTN Century City - Disgusting Customer service
I purchased a Huawei Y5 2019 Cellular Phone on the 11th June 2019 and on the 26th August I took my cell phone into MTN Century City as I could not receive land line calls from certain numbers on my cell phone. Jarryd Rhodenbarer took the phone in. They first did a sim swap to double check that it's not the sim card and it still did not work. He told me he would phone me within 5 days. That was on a Monday. As I never heard anything I went in on the following weekend. Jarryd then said the phone was only collected on the Friday so nothing has been done yet. He would phone Mike Hendricks at Technical on the Monday and would come back to me. I gave him my wife's cell number as I have just started a new job and was still in training. Again after a week we heard nothing so went in again to MTN to double check. We were then told that the repair centre in CT had closed and the phone was en route to Midrand. We then gave them a few more days to sort this out. We went back to MTN AGAIN last weekend after not hearing anything. This time demanding to speak to the Manager as it was now 3 weeks and if we didn't keep going into MTN we would hear anything. Jarryd had given us his cell number but never answered when we called his cell and didn't even return my call after I left a detailed message. The Manager was not working that weekend so Jarryd called one of the 2nd in charge whose name is Leroy. He said he would personally phone Mike on Monday to sort it out. I had to what's app him on Monday morning to remind him, which my wife did. The new story (as it keeps changing) was it was now in the queue for assessment for repairs. My wife then asked how long this queue was as it has been in this queue for 3 weeks already. He then gave my message to Nolene, the Manager on Wednesday 18th September. She phoned me back late afternoon and said that she was going to follow up and come back to me the following day. Well Thursday came and went with no call. I phoned her on Friday, no answer, so left a message to say that if I had no response I would be going onto Hello Peter. She then quickly called me back to say that she followed up and the phone was now only being sent to SSL Cellular (think that's the name) for assessment for repairs. Originally it was meant to be sent in for assessment for exchange as this is a new phone. I only got this phone in June 2019. I am now very irate and would like some senior management from MTN to sort this out and ensure that I actually get a new phone as I have been a MTN customer for more than 10 years and my wife and children also have MTN contracts through Century City branch on my name. I have never received such terrible customer service from MTN yet my debit order still came off timeously and I don't even have my phone. My cell number is *** but please contact my wife in this regard, on ***. Thank you.
The IMEI number is: ***. Yes this does pertain to the cell number *** but we requested that someone contact my wife on *** as I a not contactable on my cell phone during office hours.
No one contacted either one of us on Monday.
Many thanks
