MTN CANNOT PROVE INSURANCE ON PHONES.
I have been trying for more that six months to get a credit on my account from MTN for Insurance for two telephones on an MTN contract. I have never taken out insurance and never paid insurance on these phones. I have asked MTN to give me proof that I have taken out insurance but they refer me back to the store telling me I must prove that I did not take out the insurance, clearly MTN invoices you without proof that you in fact took out insurance. The store could not give me this proof. Eventually I received a document where one phone was insured. This however is an old number that is not active anymore and that certainly was not insured by me. According to my monthly statements the insurance was activated three months after I got my new phones. MTN invoices you centrally for the contact and insurance. At the point of invoicing, they have no proof that you have in fact taken out insurance. I suggest that every MTN client with a contract ask for a credit on their insurance.
