Mtn cannot process a sim swap for my contract ****** number since June 2018
MTN is giving me a nightmare during the day. Last year (March 2018), I reported a ****** contract phone to Mtn and I was told the number have been stopped/blocked. I requested a sim swap and guess what? They send smses to the person who stole the phone to authorise the sim swap. How applicable is that?
Went to Mtn Store Menlyn and paid for something called number swap (+/-R255.00) if I recall clearly but the person continued using my number. At the end I decided to accept the defeat because it was costing me going to Mtn stores without any help.
Always when I call the ****** number, it rings and a very huge voice answers the phone, How traumatic. Now the number is due for an upgrade.
I went to MTN Menlyn Store last night to perform an upgrade hoping to get my number back through sim swap. Indeed the consultant assured me that after upgrading the contract and filling a sim swap form and paying another sim swap fee of R115.00 I will get my number back. I was convinced and renewed my contract successfully. But here I am now, The sim swap did not happen. I again attempted to call the ****** number and guess what, The call went through to the old ****** SIM card.
MTN sent an sms to the person who stole my phone to authorise a sim swap again. How is that possible. This person benefitted for almost a year because Mtn can't perform a sim swap or rather block the SIM card, yet they continued billing me monthly.
I have been an MTN customer for almost 10 years but their treatment is horrible.
Meaning since I upgraded my contract yesterday and a sim swap failed because it was not authorised, this person is now enjoying benefits of this new contract.
MTN what a nice and respectable treatment.
