MTN, cancelled contract still deducting money!?!

To Whom it May Consern,

I got a contract from MTN R299 about 4 years ago and it expired 2 years back. I kept the contract active until 2 May 2017 when you took R629. I stopped using the sim card so that there would be no fees buildup I tried to contact you but couldn't get a hold of anyone so I send an email. I only got a reply a month later where in I told you to cancel the contract where in you rep**** to me and informed me I must cancel it online at the mtn web site where I did. On the 1 June you deducted R764 again after I had canceled the contract I went in to the bank and did a reversal on the money. I called MTN and got throught this time and spoke with a lady who helped me and said everything was canceled as well as the SIM card. I still haven't used the SIM at all. On the 1 July you deducted money again R1539.54 after everything was supposedly cancelled and I haven't used the SIM in 2 months time so how can you still be billing me and so much?! I am going to have to go in to the bank again and reverse the money that was taken from me. If this happens again I will have to take legal action as you are wasting my time and money.

Regards

Very unhappy ex-client Henry Collins

Good day,

Thank you for the reply. Please note my concerns below.

I never activated any content service on my SIM card as I don't even know what basebone is. I also find it very convenient that the services was "installed" about the same time as I cancelled or tried to cancel the SIM card, also that you are unable to give me any feedback or information on the service charges. If said services was actived by "me" there should be sms confirmations on the SIM which I could not find. Please supply me with the sms's as you were my service provider at the time. As you can quary information from basebone you can also get them to remove me from their database as I never app**** to be on their database in the first place. Explain to me how the fees just suddenly got so much from round about R300 to R700 +. I hold you guys responsable as I have never given any permissions for the installation or activation of any services. On my debit deduction the name is MTN not basebone.

Regards

Henry

To who cares I got confirmation that my MTN contract was Cancelled round about 5 months ago only to have their attorneys contact me and tell me I owe MTN money now I do not understand how that works since when you cancel a contract it gets cancelled and payments stop. So I went in to a MTN store only to find out that my sim has been cancelled and not my contract where I asked them to cancel both since I want nothing from them again. Now I am wondering how competent the people are since now I owe money for something I stopped using about 6 months ago and was supposedly cancelled. So please tell me what is going on since you cant be helped by any of your stores they cant give you any information or cancel anything and calling one of the numbers takes forever to get through and then still no help. And I would like to have a detailed list of the payments on what I apparently owe and used during the time that the sim was cancelled and I stopped using it.
