I have two terrible experiences with MTN canal walk

Experience 1: to get the contract. I should’ve seen the red flags there. Their system was offline twice, only managed to get the contract on the 3rd attempt of going into the mall. I probably spent more money on parking and petrol than anything else in trying to get this contract.

Experience 2: within the 6 month warranty, my phone screen got faulty. The phone was checked in on 1 Feb 2023. The service consultant would not accept the phone until all accessories were provided, including the pin to open the sim slot (I lost mines and nobody sells the Samsung specific one so I had to go on a hunt to find one).

No loan phone was provided whilst they assessed the phone. No communication was sent during the interim of them assessing my phone. So I had to go into canal walk multiple times for an update. Again, no consideration for my costs or time to come in and out of the mall.

My phone was “ready” on 16 Feb 2023 - more than two weeks later. So over this period, I lost out on using my phone but STILL have to pay a full bill. Fair? I think not.

I called MTN after care sales to confirm that my phone was ready and the lady insisted that I could just go in and get a replacement, she even gave me a reference number which I could use for pick up. I go to the mall, only to get told that I need to bring in the paperwork and the reference given to me was insufficient. Do they not have paperwork on record? Really? What kind of business is being run?

Anyway, I go home and get the paperwork and go back to the mall. Only to find out that they’re system is return offline and they cannot do anything to give me the replacement. What **** is this?

I’ve now been in and out of the mall at least 10 times to get this phone sorted and it’s still not done.

Absolutely ridiculous service and you still expect me to pay for services that were not even renedered???????

I cannot wait for this contract to be over, you won’t see me back.
