MTN Campus Square JHB poor service
I renewed my MTN data bundle contract today at the MTN shop at Campus Square in JHB today. I had spoken to the consultant the week before to hear about my options for an upgrade. I was informed by the consultant that my previous contract had expired. I said. I had noticed that my data bundles had not been discontinued even though my contract expired. He informed me that they would not be stopped automatically. I then asked if I would still be charged the same amount as I was while under contract and he said yes. I however was not charged the same but charged R200 more for the same amount of data because I was out of contract. I understand this now, but when I asked him this week why he told me otherwise: he got angry when I asked and raised his voice and was adamant he always tells customers the correct things: it must have been me thst misunderstood. I conceded there might have been a misunderstanding. He kindly explained certain things about the new contract but once it was signed he wanted me to sign a form on which the consultant is supposed to indicate what information they have provided the client with. The problem is that he wanted me to sign the form he had not completed. I asked him and he said he had told me everything the form listed relevant to my contract. I then read it and ticked what he had informed me about. On this form it said there was an upgrade fee of R105 which I asked why he had not told me about. His excuse was that he told me I would be charged pro rata basis this month; which he did. The problem is that he was insistant that telling me about the pro rata billing include me being informed about the R105 as if that is what pro rata meant. We then got into an argument about what pro rata meant. He is abrasive, misinformed and has not idea of the importance of understanding why you must fill the forms correctly. This small omission has just confirmed the fact that he did not give me the correct information the previous week. Many small mistakes lead to large mistakes. I came away feeling frustrated by the experience and wishing I had spent my money somewhere else.
