MTN Call Centre - WORST SERVICE, *********** AGENTS & MANAGERS
I received my new contract sim card last week Wednesday 15/12/2021, I called the MTN helpdesk to register the number as an E-Sim number for an Apple I-phone 12 Pro Max. I was told that the number takes up to 24 hours to activate and I should call back on Friday as Thursday was a public holiday and they can not help me on a Weekends or Public holidays.
On Friday when I called back I first held for over 20 minutes to speak to an agent I was transferred from MTN Business, to the Accounts Department, to the Technical Department and was then told that I need to call back and speak to the Accounts Department. who were the people who transferred me to the Technical Department because they could not help me.
While I was speaking the the Accounts Department I asked to speak to a Manager and was told that they could not transfer me to a Manager they will get someone to call me back within the next 5 Minutes. 5 Minutes came and went and today is Monday morning and Im still waiting for a Manager from the Accounts Department to call me back.
I did however call back after waiting 10 minutes for a Manager to call me back and again was transferred from one department to the next, this is now 2 hours of holding later. I then again asked to speak to a Manager and was transferred to a Christina who said she would sort out the issue and call me back in 20 minutes. Two hours later I received a call from an agent to say that they were busy sorting out the issue and would call me back before close of business on Friday to let me know if it was sorted.
Today is Monday I have called MTN about 6 times now and I have AGAIN been holding on for over an hour to try sort this out. My first call I spoke to a very rude lady by the name of Nomfundo she instructed me to call 135 AGAIN as she is working from home and can not help me she gave me her managers email address "***" and told me to email my complaint to him. I called 135 AGAIN the agent said she could not hear me and would call me back this was over an hour ago still waiting for her to call me back.
I called 135 AGAIN and to my surprise I spoke to an agent who informed me that they can not assist me online I actually need to go into a MTN store for a QR code that I need to scan before I can use the E-Sim. So my question to her was this...... After fighting with the MTN agents since Wednesday last week, holding on for 3 hours to find someone competent enough to assist me (which never actually happened because every person I spoke to had a different story), calling 135 over 15 times and being transferred from one department to the next, could the first person I spoke to not just tell me this? My next question was with todays technology can MTN not just email me a QR code to scan? Why do I need to go to a MTN store and probably waste another hour of my time for a QR code.
I REGRET TAKING OUT A CONRACT WITH MTN!!!! It seems like MTN call center did not get the same MEMO or the same TRAINING because every agent I spoke to told me a different story. I have been struggling since Wednesday last week (15 December) its now MONDAY 20 December and still my number is not registered as an ESim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
