MTN *****

On 17/11/2023 I received a phone call from a person claiming that he works at the ***** department of MTN informing me that a person is busy with a *****ulent transaction on my account. He requested that a give him the OTP send to me. I suspected that he was the *****ster and refused. On 20/11/2023 I informed MTM by Email about the incident which was promptly acknowledged but no further response from MTN. In December I was billed by MTN for an additional R3500.00 (approximately) over and above my usual monthly fee which is a fixed amount and paid by EFT. I paid my monthly fee but not the *****ulent transaction fee. Another mail was sent to MTN *****help as well as customercare at MTN. Once again an automated response with no further action. Beginning January 2024 my cellphone service was suspended by MTN despite regular paying of my contractual monthly fee. Another E mail was sent to MTN with once again an automated response and no follow up. Today I received a message that my credit rating will be affected by the non payment of the *****ulent transaction. It is my understanding that both the customer and the service provider have contractual responsibilities. Clearly if the service provider utilize systems that creates the possibility of ***** and then expects the customer to pay for this, it constitutes ***** by itself. All clients of MTN should be aware that they are dealing with a company that has little regard for their customers. I have reached a stage of desperation to resolve these issues with MTN as they simply do not respond.
