MTN BREACH OF CONTRACT

In early August 2017 I phone MTN to cancel my on phone's contract. After phoning the 808 number, I was transferred to the retentions dept. When they finished cancelling my contract, the agent advised me that one of my other contracts (a data / tablet contract) was due for and upgrade. I indicated that I wanted to cancel it but after a couple of minutes I changed my mind and upgraded it with the consultant. The reason for my frustration with them was that part of the upgrade was that I would receive a tablet as well and that it would have been in my possession a week later. Well, as at this morning, I still don't have my tablet. Over the past 3 & a bit months I have made numerous calls to MTN (Retentions dept.) with not a single call from them. Every time I speak to a consultant I get promised they will come back to me but with no luck. Part of the excuses to date were; no stock or waiting on the warehouse to come back to them or waiting on the warehouse to issue them with a reference number Every time I call them (which is roughly once a week) I am promised that they will either come back to me with a response the same day or the following day. To date, nothing . In fact, as I a typing this, I am holding on to speak to a consultant which normally last for 10+ minutes. I've told them on numerous occasions that I believe that they are in breach as I did not receive the device promised and that I want the "upgrade" cancelled. I am getting fed up calling them every week to get them to sort their mess out.

So all of a sudden after I publish my concern on Hello Peter I get a call from someone at MTN claiming that they are so sorry and that they will fix it. So I get a call from the call Centre who process my cancellation of the contract and then ask me if I would still like to take out a contract . So I ask the consultant if they have tablets in stock as this would be a waiste if they don’t. She checks and assure me they have stock. Reluctantly I proceed with the assurance within two weeks for the latest I will have my tablet. Needless to say, we’re starting all over again as nothing thus far appeared on my doorstep. What is interesting thoug, phones of two other upgrades I have done after that, has already been delivered. This is so frustrating, when will they get it right. So, no MTN, I am still not happy with your service, so the gentlemen from MTN who phoned my, I will await your call as I am sick and tired of wasting my time to sit and wait for long periods on end trying to get you to sort out your mess.
