MTN - ********* by incompetence

I have been an MTN client since the service was established many years ago

My phone was ****** on 18/10/2022

I blocked the sim telephonically with MTN on the 18/10/2022 and went to MTN Morningside to do a sim swop and buy a new phone at 10:00 in the morning of the 19/10/2022 .

MTN is completely useless - they could not do a sim swop , they could not unblock the sim to do so , they have no way of escalating any problem beyond sending an email to head office which no one replies to , there is no timeframe to resolve any issue - At the end of the Day Sandra - the branch manager called head office to get this matter resolved - The person she needed to speak to was in a meeting and no sim was swopped .

MTN and their systems are on par or worse than those of home affairs - the incompetence of their staff , poorly implemented systems and the ineffective procedures they follow are ********* by incompetence - The client needs his number back they hold it with their incompetence

Surely they have to provide an acceptable level of service to retain their ICASA license ?

I have lost hundreds of thousands in missed business and they have still not swopped my sim and returned my number to me

If I ran my business like they do I would be out of business in 1 day.

The staff can only follow the procedures they are directed to follow - there is no way to escalate problems in a rapid and effective manner - they are continually embarrassed and made to look stupid by a system that does not work.

I am still without my number - the staff have no idea how long I will need to wait

why would anyone want to do business with these guys and why does ICASA not audit them and close them down ?

If anyone in my business displayed such a high level of incompetence the only way to deal with the client would be to escalate the matter to the CEO who would then personally apologize to the client after resolving the matter to the clients satisfaction.
