MTN: Bad service & unwanted charges

I've had the worst experience with MTN. I Went in store (Cape Road, Port Elizabeth) in Feb 2017 to query an extra amount of R60 on my contract bill. I was told by Nadia Goosen that I had subscribed to content, which I was completely unaware of. She went on her system and told me she had cancelled the subscription and all would be okay now. I was worried as Ive never heard of unknowingly subscribing to anything. Surely I would have to consent to this?

I asked if i could take it further to make sure it doesn't happen again and was told by her that she would email this third party and she'll get back to me.

I called a few days lter and was told she didn't get any feedback yet. I asked how long it will take. A week, a month, a year? I got a response of "I don't know". I confirmed with her that she had all my necessary contact info to contact me as soon as she got any information, as I didn't want any more charges and subscriptions that I have not legally agreed to.

I never heard fromm her again. I noticed another extra R90 on my April invoice so i go in store(Cape Road MTN) again nd ask for the manager this time, Dunjsha Allers, with the assistance of Christiaan(tech guy). I know get told I have a further R1447 added to my bill for content charges for May. I was shocked to say the least.I wanted answers and got an explanation of how clicking out of pop-up adds could subscribe me to various things. I argued that I had wanted to sort this out in Feb already but Nadia never got back to me. How was this my fault? I come in store as a customer asking for assistance, was blatantly ignored, now I am responsible for paying R1447?

I was told to dial *141*5# to unsubscribe because MTN cannot do it on their system. Funny how Nadia could do it in Feb then. Then Dunjsha tells me MTN cannot lay a complaint on my behalf as I have to do it myself. She informs me that R2007 would be deducted as a debit order in June.

I returned in store Monday 5 June to discuss what to do next. Dunjsha not present so I speak to acting manager, Clintia who tells me I have a further R700 for May added to my bill for more content charges. I tell her the whole story and she privately speaks to Nadia(who first assisted me) and tells me that what was discussed in Feb was between me & Nadia. So, basically it's my word against hers.

Surely there is proof on MTN's system that my account was logged into in Feb and these subscriptions cancelled by Nadia, like she claimed? Or proof of the emails she sent to the third party?

I decide to wait till Dunjsha is back and so I return on Wed 7 June. Dunjsha gives me a list of all the companies that have subscribed me and the amounts as well as WASPA's contact info. I contacted WASPA and gave them all the relevant info.

Beginning of June, MTN deducts R2800 off my account, not R2007 as i was told would go off. I try emailing and calling Dunjsha, leaving messages and get no reply. Eventually, after numerous calls, I get through to her. She says the extra R800 is for more content charges. Impossible as Christiaan showed me he had unsubscribed me in store himself by dialing *141*5#.

I am sill waiting to hear feedback regarding this R800 and what companies have charged me.

I've tried contacting Lesego Tsele(credit controller), Sandy Harker(operations Administrator), Heidi Maartens(sales area superviser) and customer service(Thobekile Mkhize) and I get no help from anyone.

This is absolutely unacceptable. All I want is to find out which companies are charging me for this extra R800 and relay this info on to WASPA so they can take it further.

I have now wasted so much time and money on phone calls and emails. I had to take time off my busy schedule at work and at the end of the day, I got no apology from anyone. I have done nothing wrong. I have been *******ly charged for things I've never agreed to subscribe to. I was given incorrect information from the start and now I have to pay for an MTN employee's mistake?

Everytime I queried anything I got attitude and excuses. If the Senior Account Manager, Credit Controller, Customer service, Operations Administrator or Sales Area Superviser at MTN cannot help me, WHO CAN???
