MTN bad service NO SIGNAL

I have had my MTN data simcard for a year, paying my contract each month and never able to use it because there is no signal in my area, they checked signal before I took the contract and confirmed availability but I have never been able to use that simcard. MTN isn’t very helpful and so far I have lost thousands by paying each month for nothing.
