MTN BAD SERVICE

I've been an mtn client for more than 11 years I always travel out of the country but making sure that my number is active, last year was away with my trips as usually and I collapsed at airport and stayed long in ICU,waking went to recovery room after a month I requested a discharge and wanting to be home I then came to SA didnt waste time I collapsed again went to baragwanath hospital was in ICU for short stay, Immediately I was better I was moved to ward to recover,on process then when I got home I called telkom for my sim swap and to activate my card they dudnt hesitate the service was excellent, I was active I called cell still best service called mtn I was advised to go to police station to get copy of affidavit an certify my I'd since I lost my belongings ,phone when I collapsed.

I went to Westgate store they requested me to get sim i rushed while was weak, and had my oxygen i was told my sim will be ready within 24-48hrs, after days i called i was advised to go back to store since sim us not active i told the assistance that i am weak for me to go there again but i will try which i did and still i was advised that I'll be up and running within 24-48hrs.

I was on calls, emails complain platform even escalated the matter however response that i got was number has been given out which is a total lie I call that number daily instead it says number not on mtn network.

I tried so much to communicate with them that I'm even using the number for my international business and everything is on that number for me to change it's a journey cant travel all countries to change I was so surprised that after this years I even requested to send my medical history still no luck it was emails from from pillar to post till I got response as follows:

Apologies for delayed response , below email has been noted. Kindly note our feedback :

As per record the 24hours turnaround that was advised was relating to the reactivation of the number on the network. Due to non-activity since November 2019 the number was deactivated.

Request was placed to reconnect the old sim in order to allow sim swap to be processed.

Our pay as you go business rules refers – Customer needs to make one chargeable call within 90 days in order to keep the number active. We take note that you were sick during the period , regrettably the number has been recycled and allocated to a different user. In order to reassign the number to you the new user will need to give consent.

In good faith we will attempt to make contact with the new user to give consent, once consent has been given we will assist further.

Kindly note we do not guarantee that that the user will give the consent and also the goodwill gesture is not admission of guilt.
