MTN Bad service

Some months ago I was forced to change my account from Autopage to MTN. Since then I have had nothing but problems caused by MTN and their systems. At Autopage I had a contract Talk 500 which costs about R1500 per month and for 16 or more years they would debit my account and send statements every month. When MTN took over this account, they do not send statements, they do not explain to you how to get your statements, in fact, they do not even introduce themselves to you! They did not take over the debit payment system (which Vodacom did without problem).

My phone was deactivated yesterday for the third time. NOT because my account was in arrears, but because I was over my credit limit of R1015.00 (how this number came about I have no idea because my account will always be at least R1500.00. I spoke to someone at MTN and was given the case number ********** 87. I paid R3000 (just to be safe, because I do not know what my balance is) and I told the operator that I would fax the proof of payment and he should reactivate my phone and increase my credit limit as this is happening every month. He told me, that I could not fax the proof of payment as all their email addresses were down and that I should go to my nearest MTN office (10kms away) and have them reactivate it. I am a director of four companies, I do not have time to jump into my car and drive to a shopping centre, sit in a queue to fix something that is clearly NOT MY FAULT and something they should have fixed in the first place. I demanded to speak to a manager and after being put on hold for a while they came back to me and said that there is no one available. They did agree to reactivate my phone after some screaming and shouting (which I was informed can take up to 24 hours) Did I mention that I am a director of four companies and that this phone is one of my working tools??? Now I must wait up to 24 hours to have my phone reactivated and actually I HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG. My account is not in arrears!! I have never defaulted and by the way, I still don't know how much I owe them although I assume it is over the R1015 credit limit. Apparently, the only way I can solve this is by going to MTN so that they can increase my credit limit so that my phone won't be deactivated again (so far this happens every month!) The only month it did not happen was when I paid double. Why should i prepay something when I have a contract and why are they not taking the money from my account as Autopage did???? I had other phones on the autopage contract which were transferred from them to Vodacom and I don't have a problem. I would like for one of the directors to call me to explain why I have to run around after them, and why I am paying the costs of running around their branches and phoning and time when in actual fact it is their systems which they don't seem to be able to fix over the phone that needs to be sorted out. Who heard of the cell phone company that has no email coverage and the reason it will take 24 hours to reactivate is because their computer systems are slow????? I put a post on the MTN facebook page but it was deleted and no one has bothered to come back to me. I have every intention of changing all my contracts as they expire to a different provider and will post this complaint where ever I can to warn the public of the bad service they are likely to get from MTN.
