MTN bad service
My phone contract expired end November 2016. In December 2016 I app**** to make my phone 'pay as you go.' This took 6 weeks to do and February account (finally) reflected only my wife's phone. March account jumped back up to same as previous debit order amounts due to a ********** data debit added to my account for ********** . My bad, I only noticed this on May account. June, I brought this to the attention of MTN and cancelled the Debit Order. 30th June I delivered sworn afidavit plus certified copy of my ID etc., regarding ********** activity on the account. I refused to pay billed amount as refund of ********** debits would cover the ligitimate amount owing.
It is now six weeks later, my wife's phone has been blocked and MTN keep promising 24 to 48 hours to resolve the matter. Generally a hopless Corporation.
Thank you for your post.
We apologize for any inconvenience incurred.
Kindly be advised that we have investigated the complaint.
The contract for cell *** has been cancelled in January 2017, no invoices generated for January and February for this number.
I have asked you online if you had a dual sim card connected with the primary number *** and your answer to me was no, our billing department has confirmed that you had a dual activated on this line with cell number ***. This number is not known to a client this information is only for the service provider information.
At the time when the cancellation was requested for cell number *** the dual sim was not cancelled so the system billed the account on the dual number.
We have checked the main system and this number *** is not active on the network and no allocation was added to the sim card.
We have requested from the billing department to assist us to remove the cell number from your account to stop the billing monthly. There is no usage on this sim card.
The account will be credited for the invoices billing charges from March 2017 to July 2017. The credit for R2490.03 will be allocated to the account in this week and will clear the account balance for R 2,198.02.
Cell number *** suspension has been removed, please ask your wife to reboot the device.
Kind Regards,
Alice van der Merwe
