MTN - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
My husband was a subscriber at MTN for many years. On 3rd July this year he passed away. I reported it to MTN Tambotie Mall in Randfontein and the lady told me to just bring in the death certificate and ID and they will cancel the contract. I specifically asked her if they can do that while the contract is still active and do I need to hand in the handset because my husband's cellphone was ******. She said yes they can and I do not have to hand in the handset. After a month I went back to find out why they still deduct the monthly installment. She said that it take up to 3 months to cancel the contract and that everything was sent to head office. After 3 months I returned to find out what is going on, just to find out that they misled my documents and never sent it in to head office. The lady was very brutal and bad mannered. The guy helped me to sign another document and I sent him another death certificate and ID. He said that they will credit me on the payments. Three days later the contract was cancelled and head office said they want the handset back. The guys told me that it was not necessary (all on e-mail), because they know we reported the phone as ****** and that head office will not pay the credit because it was their mistake and the shop will have to pay the credit back. After about 3 weeks they now turn around and have plenty excuses why they can't pay the credit back. This was not the first bad experience. Before this, my husband did a swim swap and after 7 days and several queries the same lady told me I'm bad mannered and put the phone down in my ear. Not very good way to handle your clients. MTN you will never have my business, I'm not the only one who had a bad experience, I know a lot of people who also complain, but let everyone speak for himself.
