MTN bad customer care
A year ago i triwd to take a new contract with MTN. A plan was offered to me which included a ohone and a watch. Everything was going well untell the phone arrived without the watch. I quieried this straight away and was told they will get back to me. I called back again a few days later and was told the watch was out of stock. I told them i will wait for it to arrive then we can conclude the contract. A few weeks later still no watch, i called again and they then told me there was no watch offered on the plan i was looking at. I asked them to listen to the recorded call which they did and then confirmed that i was offered the watch as part of the plan. They then told me that they will offer me a different plan without the watch, which by the way would cost the same in monthly premiums, i refused this as i took the plan that was offered. Till date no watch recieved, i am now recieving phone calls from their attorneys demanding in exess of R 7 000 for the contract that they are in breach ofand have never used the number. I have explained this to them everytime they call me. I now again tried to call MTN customer care on the advise of their attorneys. 30 minutes on the phone at my expense, 5 different consultants spoken to and then they drop the call. I have also tried calling the head office number, twice, first time after 10 minutes no answer, 2nd time answer at 8 munutes, put on hold and at 15 minutes they drop my call again. I am at wits end. How do we as a consumer fix this, a huge corporate such as MTN is allowed to get away with treating a would be paying customer like i am nothing but a number to them. I hope this post goes to the right channels. I have also emailed them again.
