MTN @home packages don't waste your time if you live in a small town!

I live in Heidelberg in the Western Cape.

Unfortunately I choose MTN as my cell phone and Internet provider. I have a MTN at home 150 GB plan. But the problem is whenever there is load shedding then the towers are down, I cannot call anyone and I have no Internet. I am a developer and I cannot work if I don't have internet. This means I have to drive to Wimpy who had good internet and work there with my laptop! This is really frustrating.

I was also running out of data on 150G at home plan, and wanted to upgrade to uncapped but MTN said I had to pay in close to R2000 to upgrade to the uncapped plan!!

I wish I never signed the MTN contract. Now I have to go to Vodacom to buy a sim in order to use their data during load shedding times.

I also did a speed test at http://speedtest.mybroadband.co.za/ and this is my results for the last two days: Ping: 1181ms Download: -1Mbps Upload: -1Mbps
