MTN assigns only 50% of data and no resolution after almost 3 months!

I bought a 40GB data contract for my parents on a special in May 2019 (20GB-20GB). At the beginning of March or end of February, when they suddenly ran our of data after my father bought a new computer, I realised that they had only received 10GB-10GB instead of 20GB-20GB every month.

Here is a short history: 1. I bought the contract, SIM only, in May 2019 on a special (40GB) at Store code 0052 in Clearwater Mall - the one closest to Clicks. 2. I went to the other MTN shop in Clearwater Mall where they requested a copy of the contract. The reason I did not return to the shop where I bought the contract was because I didn't want to deal with the *********** person who handled the contract. He was the one who apparently entered the wrong code on the system, resulting in the incorrect amount of data assigned. There were other issues at time of the sale as well. 3. I requested the contract from this *********** person but he did not send it to me at first. I had to go there a second time. Only then was it sent. His disrespect and dismissive attitude is shocking. 4. Only on 20 March could they officially report the issue. I was told that it was logged on the system. 5. Because of no reaction from MTN, on 1 April, I decided to cancel the contract. I phoned 135 where I twice had to hang on for longer than an hour. With the second call I could eventually talk to someone at Cancellations. I unfortunately lost the book in which I wrote the MTN employee's name but she had a really bad attitude when I explained the issue and why I was not willing to pay a penalty but insisted on a cancellation. She said she would escalate the issue but I do not believe that she did. I hope that you can track the call. She also told me that no issue was logged for the data contract number - which means that the MTN store did not log the issue as promised. 6. On 17 April, I phoned 135 again. I also, eventually, went through to Cancellations (Retentions) and spoke to someone who sounded like she sympathised and was the first person who was willing to "make a plan". She promised to phone me back with some feedback, even if nothing was resolved yet, later that afternoon. I've since only received one message from her after telling her that I reported the case to the Group CEO. After numerous follow-ups from my side, not a single word from her or anyone else at MTN.

The Group CEO did not respond or referred my e-mail for resolution. I also contacted him on LinkedIn - no response. I've had to do this before and received responses and resolution from two other companies.

I've since visited the MTN shop again but left after the person who made the mistake in the first place answered with "Eish" when he was told why I was there.

On top of this, two MTN employees phoned me on 12 May to ask if I want to upgrade!!!!

MTN is only focused on sales but totally *********** when it comes to customer service.

What should happen here is the following: 1. Data contract should be cancelled. 2. I should be refunded 50% of my monthly subscription because I only receive 50% of the data. 3. I should be reimbursed R1 000 for the data I've had to purchase. 4. All the people at MTN that I've dealt with should be disciplined. Their incompetence and unwillingness to resolve this issue smells of sabotage. They are used by MTN as gatekeepers. At no stage could I speak to a Manager. I've got most of the names if MTN is interested. On the system it apparently shows that I bought a router, which is not the case. It looks like someone checked out a router on the system. What happened to it?
