MTN, as always using false and misleading adverti*****t to lure customers into renewing contracts, ****!
MTN ran a promotion, or should I say "false" promotion, and the in-app message said, "Upgrade online to get an R500 Takealot voucher + stand a chance to win an iPhone 14 Plus T&Cs apply ". I was initially hesitant to renew my contract with MTN for obvious reasons; after all, they are the worst in the business. But then I thought an R500 voucher would be nice. An agent who called to assist me with the upgrade even confirmed this promotion; however, I told him that if that's the case, I'd rather do it online. A few days later, I received a call from an MTN agent to finalize my application, and they confirmed again that I would receive the R500 Takealot voucher. I received the handset on 24 Jan, and I then followed up with MTN via their Twitter page asking about the missing voucher, after sending all the proof and info they asked for, their response was "our sales team will forward you the voucher number via SMS, it may take 7-21 days". I sent two messages through the same channel and was ignored. I cannot contact customer service because their phone number does not appear to be operational. If this is not resolved, I will definitely inform their ombudsman.
