MTN ****arney Mall dupes people who don't know better into signing up for ridiculous contracts!

My elderly mum went to ****arney mall MTN store last week to upgrade her MTN contract.

She was duped by salesperson Bongani into signing a contract with 5GB of data and an LTE phone.

She asked for a new model iPHONE which any reasonable salesperson would have assumed was an iPHONE6 and a contract based on her existing usage. Usually the salespeople check your call history for a few months on their system, data usage history etc before recommending a contract.(this has always happened to me when signing a new contract) She doesn't even use 500MB of data per month.

It seems they are trying to get rid of the LTE iPHONE and using customers who don't know better by getting them to sign up contracts and getting this phone.

Store manager LUNGI and salesperson BONGANI were adament that she understood the deal and accepted it. She has NO IDEA what data is or LTE!!! On what is she going to use 5GB a month!!!???? And how did they come to the conclusion that she needed that much??

Cosmonet apparently owns the store but efforts to reach Operations Manager, a certain FRED were futile as the number provided by BONGANI AND LUNGI and listed on the net is never answered.

Store personnel keeps covering up for each other so theres no solution there. We went in to resolve on the day and called many times.

This contract has been with MTN for ever but will definitely be moving to another service provider when up for renewal.
