MTN are the worst, no replies.. bleeding me dry. My contract ended almost a year ago.

MTN IS THE WORST! I have been dealing with this situation since September 2017. Reference Numbers: # ********** 9; # ********** 8; # ********** 7; # ********** 7; ********** 9; ********** 2; # ********** 2; # ********** 5; # ********** 2; # ********** 8; ********** 7;

I am yet to get a response from any MTN Department that I have contacted, including the Legal Department. I am being harassed almost every single day by SAYA RECOVERIES when this is the fault of MTN and not me! I sent a request to CANCEL MY CONTRACT in SEPTEMBER 2017 and it was acknowledged by MTN - Yet, they are still billing me now in JUNE 2018 and demanding the money by SAYA Recoveries. I have sent 1000 emails and all of them go unanswered!!! I am not even using the number. My account was paid in full to be downgraded and it has not been. This is MTN's fault because of the flaws in their communication chancels in their departments. I requested a copy of the original contract that I signed - I have not received it. I have proof that I requested a downgrade and it was acknowledged. THUS, MY ACCOUNT SHOULD BE DOWNGRADED BUT IT IS NOT. I have been paying an account that I do not use since September 2017 until now and I have proof that MTN acknowledged my request for cancellation in SEPTEMBER 2017. This is ridiculous. I signed a 2 year contract not a 3 year contract and it has expired in 2017 - end of story. It was confirmed by MTN themselves when they responded to my request for my contract to be canceled that it would be expiring in Oct 2017. So, where is the problem. MTN! In September, October and November 2017 I emailed multiple times to officially request that my contract be cancelled and my account be downgraded to a Pay-As-You-Go contract - as I am overseas for business and I never use this number unless I am in South Africa which is for a short amount of time each time. I do not use the DATA or AIRTIME. They confirmed with me when they received my email to have my contract downgraded. It is JUNE 2018 and my contract is way OUT OF CONTRACT yet I have to keep paying otherwise I get a bad credit record but NOBODY will listen to me or respond to me that it should have been cancelled and it is not being used! I paid a total of R6000.00 in full to have my contract downgraded at the request of MTN and I sent the proof of payments along with a 20 requests to DOWNGRADE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY to all departments (Mbalenhle Ndaba; Emma Mathanjana and Gemini Plaatjies) MTNSP Legal Action Department MTN Service Provider)

I am so sick to death of dealing with this for almost a year. I am tired of it now and it is not my fault. As the payee, I did the right thing by officially requesting for it to be cancelled. I have been paying so that I do not get a bad credit record and now I am being harassed daily by SAYA Recoveries for R1088.00 - ANY MTN WONT REPLY TO ONE OF MY EMAILS except with a reference number. UNBELIEVABLE!

I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK SINCE THE DAY I SENT THE FIRST CANCELLATION EMAIL: Date: 2017/09/28 1:04:30 AM Downgrade Account [# ********** 8] I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!!! Not to mention the calls to MTN from Overseas and not getting anywhere... the daily unanswered emails to MTN Legal and the harassment emails from a recovery company for R1088.00 when MTN is at fault.....

Please be advised, my account has not been corrected as I had been advised.

Please read the below thread with all the attachments and proof of payments.

I do not owe R1622.42.

My account have been trying to close this account since October 2017. March I owed 5544,24 the amount was payed in full. I am not paying another rand more. Enough is enough.

My proof of payment prove that the full amount was paid. I have emails cancelling my contract since October 2017. I am keeping the number as a pre paid number and I do not need this contract.

Good Day,

The data and airtime on this number has not been used, I requested it to be cancelled in September 2017. As of March 31st the account was payed in full. Why am I being charged R1 622.42 this month? This is unacceptable. The account was paid in full. My contract is over. There are no signed papers from me extending the contract passed two years and I have the below thread requesting for the contract to be cancelled.

Please find my request for cancellation from last year attached below:

Please see my complaint below. I have not received any information or responses regarding the charges and downgrading of my account. I will not be charged. Please see the reference numbers, dates and proof of payments. I requested for my account to be downgraded last year, I paid my account in full and I will not pay a cent more as it should have been downgraded last year as requested. All I require is the number to be a PayAsYouGo number.

Please can my case be dealt with as soon as possible. If you require more of the correspondence that I have had with MTN staff over the past year, I will be happy to provide it.

Kind Regards, Sjaana Veltman
