MTN are a bunch of *******

I recently app**** for a contract from MTN. I already complained about the bad service here on Hello Peter. After a frustratingly long time (26/04/2017 to 12/05/2017) I finally recieve my phone after numerous frustrating calls to a call centre that has absolutely no inkling as to what they are doing. Every promise of calling me back so far was broken. After accepting the phone on the 12/05/2017, I have not recieved any sort of apology or compensation of any sort from them.

I now get my account debited by R307.30 for a R299.00 a month contract. Bare in mind that I have not exceeded any of the allocated bundles.

I call the billing department to enquire about why I am charged extra for a shorter period of time. The lady "Alyssa" tells me its a pro rata charge and that i was charged from the time I app**** for the contract and not the time I received the phone. So basically MTN stole from my bank account and amount for which their incompetance is to blame (i.e. no stock and not notifying me). On the call with Alyssa I then ask for her supervisor. She asks me to please hold for 4 minutes for the supervisor to take my call. I hold on, the guy picks the phone up while having a conversation with somebody else in the background and after a minute or so just drops the call.

I selected 1 star on this rating because unfortunately the star scale doesnt run into the negatives.

If this issue is not rectified immediately I will be taking further steps to alert people to the way MTN conducts business as well as exploring legal options against the theft.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for taking time to raise your concerns with MTN, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as result of the breakdown in the service delivery in one of our touch points.

Kindly be advised that the reason why it came to R307.00 its because the prorata of R8.30 was app**** the next invoice to be finalised will be R299.00

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you

warm regards

mike

I still disagree with you Mike. I received the approval sms on 03/05/2017. So Pro-rata is still supposed to be less. MTN has ****** from me because I was charged for data, minutes and sms's, as well as a handset that was approved later then the starting of the month. Might I remind MTN that you guys were out of stock and thats the reason you guys took so long to deliver my phone.

I disagree with the fact that I have to be overcharged and underserved. My experience with MTN has beyond pathetic. If anyone is considering doing any sort of business with MTN, please don't. A telecommunications company that has ill trained call centre agents, doesnt even have the decency to call me regarding the overcharge even though I have tried talking to a supervisor, who was having a conversation with someone else in the background and then dropped the phone before hearing my story.

The MTN complaints email is just as pathetic as the rest of the company.

A summary of the departments I've had trouble with

1) Sales

2) Deliveries

3) Customer Support

4) Customer Complaints (Call Centre)

5) Customer Complaines (email)

6) Billing
