MTN Approves *****ulent Purchases
A *****ulent account was opened on my husbands name in 2022.
In 2022 we went to MTN Centurion Mall to have this sorted out and the sales clerk promised that this account has been cancelled and removed from my husband's name.
Yesterday we found out that he now has an outstanding balance with MTN for R8000.00.
Why was this not cancelled when we went to MTN to sort this out?
Please take note of the following:
1. The date of birth provided does not match the ID given. The ID given is that of my husband. The date of birth states 1 January 1970. My husband was born in 1983, as stated on the ID number.
Why was a verification not done and why was a copy of the ID not requested when this person made the purchase? Do you not do verification checks? And why was a copy of the ID not requested when the product was delivered to this person?
2. The email address provided does not belong to my husband.
3. We also do not stay in Edenvale. We live in Centurion and have lived there for almost 12 years.
4. The mobile number captured on the application form doesn't even exist!
5. We also have been with Vodacom for many many years and have never had any other mobile accounts.
I believe this has now been handed over to your legal department and we need this sorted out today, please. We are trying to purchase a house and this is prohibiting us to do so as we have been flagged for having an account in arrears.
This needs to be sorted today, please. I will not wait 24 hours, or 48 hours, or how ever many hours it takes you to get your act together. This was supposed to be sorted in 2022 already.
