MTN and TymeBank Collusion and *****

BEWARE! I suspect there is a collusion of ***** between TymeBank and MTN. I received unsolicited SMSs from tymebank requesting a password change on my bank account with the authorising pin code (3 of). When I contacted the bank they suggested I contact mtn as there may have been a sim swap. I went to mtn to state my case. There was a sim swap but certainly not initiated by me. I was told that I needed to pay R50 to swap for a new sim card. I refused wanting to know details of how this can occur. The lady was not forthcoming saying the system doesn't reveal that information. Apparently these swaps can be done online by ussd. Clearly there are no security checks with this procedure. I spent the whole day trying to get to the bottom of this through the mtn call centre which is absolutely useless. Been cut off after holding for an hour is not acceptable. How are we meant to report ***** when the ***** department can't even take calls. Emailing is a waste of time - they don't even bother to respond. My next step is to bring ******** charges against mtn. If anyone else has had this experience, join me in mass action against mtn.
