MTN and Summer Mobile Promotion Mess since Nov 2019
In Novmeber 2019 i was contacted by Summer Mobile, to upgrade my MTN from a 500MB data package, to a promotion of 2GB data and a Samsung tablet for R 149 / month (the 500MB was R34 /month). I was told it will take just under 2 weeks to get the tablet. First time I started doubting this, was when I gave the consultant my ID number incrrectly (with the ID cloning these days, I do this on a regular basis) After 3 weeks I phoned MTN to cancel, as I did not receive the tablet, and decided to get a Smart TV instead. I was told to simply cancel the tablet delivery, when phoned by the courier company for delivery address. This I did after more than 2 weeks that was promised, as I thought by then it was a hoax, and was surprised that the tablet was actually on its way. So, a few months later, I see my MTN sim is blocked. I called MTN in January, I was told to phone Summer Mobile - and here I was taken aback by how many different numbers I had to phone to get to a consultant eventually (Durban and Cape Town numbers) So, during my call in January with Summer Mobile, I was told my contract will be set back to the original 500MB. A few weeks later, I get calls from a legal department that I owe MTN R 1000+ and I need to make a plan to pay them. Since then I've been to the MTN shop in Somerset Mall 3 times. The last time a few days ago, I was told to phone Summer Mobile again, as they have to instruct MTN to reverse back to the 500MB contract. I just got off the phone with Summer Mobile - the lady read me the instructions from the call (*** - and how it is asked to reverse the contract to the previous 2GB).
So, after not being able to call MTN from my MTN Sim, wasting my other mobile contract's minutes to get hold of someone to speak to, but getting into a loop on the call center answering service for UNISA data for students - I've now had enough. The last straw was when I emailed my discussion to the consultant at Somerset Mall, and the email came back - not sent. After typing the email address VERY meticulously.
So MTN - PLEASE reverse my R1300+ that I owe you due to your personnel in the Channel Query department who dealt with my issue on 7 February, and FAILED to reverse my contract.
Cancel my contract, reverse all the charges - as I am obviously now done with you. This issue has been coming along since November, after accepting a contract after giving you my INCORRECT ID No...
