MTN allowing WASP ***** activities

Unauthorized and unwilling rogue WASP service content providers obtained my number, and every other day I'm subscribed to a new service, immediately charged and monies deducted from my prepaid airtime. This is unauthorized payouts of MTN to 3rd party WASP service providers without my permission. This is *****!

I've contacted WASPA, but they can only help if the WASP is a member of WASPA. Furthermore, no way of preventing these guys from sharing your contact details, and every other day you're registered for a new WASP service. Even if you immediately subscribe using the MTN USSD service *141*5#, they ******s already billed and deducted the first subscription fee from your airtime.

This is crazy... How can this be allowed by ICASA and the consumer protection act. This is outright *****.

MTN customer care, just provide you with the "New" service providers contact details. They can block all WASPs on request, and prevent any future WASP on a specific number. I do not and will never make use of a WASP service.....

I've had this number for over 15 years, and suddenly the last two months these issues...

This is unacceptable.....

Thanks for the reply MTN, but *156# only unsubscribe content services that is active on your numbers. It does not allow you to block all future content services????

This only address individual subscriptions. I would like to block all content services on my phones (083 *** ***X as well as my new number also plagued by content services 073 *** ***Y). By the time I get a notification (which seems to occur almost daily) they have already taken a first deduction on my airtime.... And this auto-subscription repeats, and repeats, this happens every day... First issues with Viamedia and Data SMS SA, then with VUCLIP not registered at WASPA all on 083 *** ***X. Managed to get refunds form Viamedia and Data SMS SA, but did not manage to contact VUCLIP successfully. I purchased a new sim and changed my number to 073 *** ***Y. I'm now experiencing the same issue with Foodlabs (Reported them to WASPA and requested a refund). Why can't MTN not block all future Content Services on my two numbers... I don't want the service and never will! I've requested both itemized bills of the two numbers to be sent to ZZZ ********** This is frustrating!!!
