MTN alleges say no payment made, won't accept bank statment or even bank letter confirming payment
on the 6th of June 2024 I purchased a MTN 5G home internet package through MTNs online store the package was speedily delivered, however that is where my pleasant experience ended, on the 11th of June 2024 MTN attempted to debit my account unsuccessfully multiple times.
the next day I noticed my internet is not connecting, I proceeded that same day to MTN cradle stone, when explaining the situation to them I was met with the unhelpful answer "call customer service". I contacted customer service whilst in the store and was told I have an outstanding amount of R1280, the exact amount that I had paid online when purchasing my internet package.
after receiving no help from MTN cradle stone I went to MTN KeyWest, at MTN key west I was assisted by a very kind consultant by the name of Itumeleng she did some digging and informed me that MTN alleges that I had not paid for my internet package, she advised me that I should get a bank statement to show that the payment was indeed made. I proceeded to Capitec and got a statement printed, showing the amount was debited. Itumaleng submitted a service request and informed me that the issue would take 24/48 hours before we get feedback after getting no feedback in the next 7 days i proceeded back to MTN keywest and was informed that the require a detailed POP.
I proceeded to Capitec and requested a detailed POP, this took 48 hours.
Once I had received the letter from Capitec I forwarded the letter to Itumeleng, who again logged a service request.
today more than a week after I had emailed the banks letter confirming that the payment was indeed made, I get a call from Itumaleng stating that MTN finance department are still insistent that they cannot verify that the payment was made.
I don't know what else to do, the bank statement shows the amount debited, Capitec furnished me with a letter confirming payment was made and processed. still MTN alleges that payment wasn't made. Itumaleng informed me that at the end of this month MTN is going to attempt to debit me for closed all the amounts outstanding and that there is not much more she can do from her side.
I honestly don't know how ells to prove it to them
