MTN aiding, abetting and protecting *********

I had my MTN number ********** 546 **********ly sim swapped on the 8 of January 2018. There are security questions that one is normally asked before a sim swap is completed and the ******** could only have successfully completed the sim swap with assistance from someone in MTN. An SMS which warned me about the impending sim swap seems to only have gotten to me after the SIM had been swapped. I called MTN on in the morning between 8am and 9am on 8 January 2018. The person who assisted me told me the SIM had not yet been swapped and asked me to add the number on the watchlist which i subsequently did but the sim swap was still effected. The ******** who did the SIM swap also got my contacts. So not only has my number been ****** but my contacts as well. I called 173 highlighting that my number had been fradulently sim swapped and asking them to block it but was told they could not block the number and have to do another SIM swap. I went to MTN menlyn to request for a SIM swap around 8pm on 9 January with a Police affidavidt stating that my number had be fradulently sim swapped but was told a corrective sim swap could not be done at that time i have to come back in the morning. In the mean time the ******** continued to de***** my contacts SMSing they and requesting airtime. I have managed to warn some of my contacts but i have lots of contacts and could not warn them all. The lack of action by MTN when a ******** who has ****** a number and is continuing to use it to commit crimes is alarming. Given this it seems to me MTN is aiding, abetting and protecting ********* yet exposing its own clients to be preyed upon by *********
