MTN agents abusing me for an upgrade.

I was called by a certain lady. Claiming to be an MTN agent and she informed me that 2 of my MTN contracts are due for an upgrade, which is correct to my knowledge.

To my surprise, the lady informed me that one of my contract can be upgraded from R279.00 per month to a whooping R500.00 per month. I rep**** that, I do not want the package that she is pushing me to take and she said it is the only package I am allowed by MTN to upgrade to.

With all respect I said to her, I cannot afford the package because I am struggling to even pay the current one. I would appreciate to take a lesser package since due to COVID-19, there is no way I can go up the instalment while my salary went down. She said to me she is not going to allow me to take a lesser package and threatened me that if I do not take the 100gig package as an upgrade otherwise she will terminate my contract.

I want to say this straight forward to MTN-SA, I do not care if you cancel my contract after its expiry. There is no way I am going to accept a package that I cannot afford so that I can satisfy your hearts. I will appreciate it if your remorseless agents stop calling me forcing me to take packages I know I cannot afford. I am a client and I know what I want. MTN-SA does not have a right to force me to increase my credits to an unaffordable bill. That is called Reckless Lending and it is ******** as per the NCR regulations. Please leave me alone. MTN-SA can go ahead and cancel my contracts, I am not going to take the package I cannot afford. Period.......
