Mtn Advert Pop Up Spam
<p>I have recently started receiving the following pop up message whenever I dial a number -</p> <p>"0% discount. Get R55 + 10 MB WoW Bonus to use today when you use R7 in airtime, Join Free dial *130*501# Ts+Cs"</p> <p>These unsolicited averts are driving me mad having to first acknowledge the message every time I dial a number!</p> <p> </p> <p>I have phoned MTN 1555 at least 8 times and have tried dialing all sorts of codes, unsubscribed from services, and logged emails sent to Mtn marketing to remove my number ref: smc/***5.</p> <p>I have been in to a Mtn shop and waited half an hour while they phoned and tried all they could. Ultimately I get told to wait a few hours and it will be fixed, or take your battery out for a few minutes to reset the phone and it will be fixed. The last time in desperation I phoned asking if there was any other department I could talk to and was told to contact Marketing Department directly on ********** . They could not help me at all and refered me back to the prepaid helpdesk again. I am totally out of options and very fraustrated.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have now been told to physically bring the phone to the Mtn Service centre in Fairland to see if they can assist me?</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

I have also been told to I have to disable my Cell Broadcast on my phone. I can confirm it is not enabled. To be sure, I did a full factory reset of my phone to eliminate any apps or settings on my phone and to no avail, still get your anoying popups

What does this advert even mean? What dribble, this ad campaign is doing far more damage than good will you your company, I am very suspicious of any special deals from cell phone company’s that only want to lock you into more and more contracts and money spend under the prognosis’s of special offers and free give always.
I have signed up on the best per second billing prepaid account with MTN possible and buy about R1000 air time every 3 months. For my data I use Afrihost as they are the most affordable on a month to month plan and have absolutely no desire to sign up to a more expensive MTN plan.
I have not given my permission for you spam to my cell phone number and find it a violation of my privacy rights.
What more must I do to get MTN to listen?
