Mtn
During the lockdown in February this year, I got a call from MTN offering me a contract for a router. I have already got a contract with them for R200 a month. I explained to the consultant that I am a pensioner and money is tight. He then told me that the router only cost R129 a month, and we will receive 5 gigs data. After thinking about it, we decided to do it as R129 is affordable, and it would be nice to have extra data. We accepted the contract, i have received the router by courier. Ilive in Springs, so I went to the mtn shop in our mall to help set it up. They said they couldn't help me because I did the contract telephonically. They send me to the Mall at Carnival, and a gentelman at that branch assisted us. Now, I sincerely hope that all the calls that were made are recorded, because I was made to understand that, if you have used up your 5 gig data, the router wil automatically not work anymore. Unless you load more data. Yesterday I received a message from MTN, stating that I owe them more than R3000!! I went to the shop at Springs mall this morning. The gentelman that helped me was very helpful, and explained to me that on the contract the " usage limit" is R5803 and it should be 0. NOBODY told me about that and I am not even sure what any of that means. I specifically told the original consultant that I am a pensioner and cannot afford to pay more than R129 a month. Bottem line, nothing anyone can do, I will just have to pay the R3300. I am so dissapointed in them. I have been a client of mtn for Many years. Now I cannot wait for these contracts to expire I dont want anything to do with them anymore.
