MTN Activation - with No Contract Signed

As a long standing customer i decided to roll into a data contract for my 2 phones that were due for upgrade. I dealt with MTN Constantia (Run by Maverick Telecommunication). I was interested in 2 x Sky Silver Sim only Contracts @ R599 over 36 months. The new contracts and application forms were emailed to - which i never sign. When i followed up to say i would be sending back i was told that my contract was already activated. Yet i have no confirmation of the activated contract and i cannot understand how this could be active if you have no signed Contract or Debit Order.
