MTN Account Hacked on my account with a LIMITED ACCOUNT WITH A TOP UP PACKAGE

MTN Account Hacked on my account with a LIMITED ACCOUNT WITH A TOP UP PACKAGE - *****: Reference **********

Went on Monday 15 August to an MTN shop in Alberton to pay my monthly accounts which are normally around R700.00 because I have a limit on my account and all the phone on my account are on a MTN AnyTime 200 TopUp Package. Which means that every month I am allocated R200 in airtime, after this amount has been used, we are on pre-paid.

To my surprise, I ask to receive the statement for the month of August, and the assistant tells me that the amount is over R12 000!!!! Someone at MTN has accessed my MTN account, purchased DATA BUNDLES to the amount of over R12 000. I have a LIMIT on my account which has NOT been changed.

These fees must be reversed in order for me to be able to pay what I owe to MTN in the MTN AnyTime 200 Contract. If I have a LIMIT on my account, it is clear that someone has access to the MTN telephone accounts and used it for a shopping spree!

This is pure ***** happening, I have a limit on my account and if I have no more airtime from the top up package, everything is bought on pre-paid vouchers. Furthermore, just received my MTN statement and the amount reflecting on my statement is totally different to what is reflecting on your accounts. How do you explain this?

Thank you,

Sandra

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience that you have experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.
Please be advised that you were billed for recurring data bundles on the number 071****320 that were loaded by the cellphone user via the self-help service. The number is on My MTNChoice 2GB, the package allows you to set up your monthly spending limit for out of bundle spend and also has the ability to top-up with airtime whilst on a post-paid contract. Please deactivate the recurring data bundles by dialling *141*5#ok.
Rest assured it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.
