MTN - A brother hustling in the townships is the same as a brother hustling in the suburbs

MTN South Africa has really let me down. I have been using this service provider for the past 15 years and it is really not practical for me to switch to another provider due to loyalty and more.

Sadly the area that i live in is at the centre of Soweto township and it is situated where mtn does not really care about its customer satisfaction.

I am a 2rd year student who is trying by all means to obtain a better life but mtn is just not helping at all but instead keeping a black brother down.

The problem is that my area does not have a cellphone tower close by and i was informed that the nearest tower is a kilometer away.

I have initiated a number of request through their network coverage department for assistance however i get helped for probably a day and the signal disappears again.

It is exhausting to log a fault with their coverage dept as all they will always say is that we have escalated and the waiting period is a week.

I have been waiting for those weeks and it will work one day or two and then after that signal strength goes back to one bar. To think of login a fault becomes a waste of time however i have always took there route not giving up and i have proof of persuasion for the past 2years.

in the year 2019 i have had to study in parks closer to their towers in order to catch signal and sometimes at night putting my life at risk. Because i cant give reasons to late assignments and online assessments that needed to be done i had to sacrifice.

My 2020 academic results dropped drastically as i could not work off home due to lockdown restrictions and this year it is really difficult for me to do anything under this network provider as i am not mobile and a number of factors not making it possible for me to work off site.

I really plead with mtn that they provide a resolution to this problem.

Although we are based in the township it does not make the people of the township less important that it is able to install a fair amount of towers in the suburbs as opposed to the townships.

Please Please Please Please Please Please Please MTN help a black brother here and more people in my shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need you to come through for your customers in the townships they may be only adding R5.00 to your profit margins but we are all humans and deserve a fair treatment.

I am pretty sure that i am not the only one who is experiencing this but as mentioned it is exhausting process to log a fault some just bare in there and some are able to switch and move on with their lifes.
