MTN
On the 4 March 2022 I opened a contract using tele sales. The contract that I signed up for was My MTNChoice 80GB at the price of R340.02 which I consented to. This contract was for a period of 24 months from the 04/03/2022 to 11/02/2024. Billing account was A***.
I have a second contract which is MTN Mega Talk XS at an amount of R482.61 which means in total I was supposed to be billed a total amount of R825.63.
About 3 months ago I realized that I was billed a total amount of R2. 031. 01. In December I received a call that my contract was due for an upgrade and informed the gentleman that i spoke to contact me the following day due to the fact I was busy at work at the time because I couldn't just make such a a decision hastily.
on the 08 February 2024 I went to an MTN store in Overport for an upgrade to my contract. The sales person who asssisted me asked me if I was aware that I have been overcharged for this account and I confirmed to him that i have noticed in the past 3 months that I have been paying more. He did some investigation he discovered that there was a discrepancy with the contract who ever assisted me they did me wrong and put things that I never agreed upon and I was advised to call the customer care for enquiry.
I called MTN Customer Care and narrated the story and was told that I must contact tele sales because they are the ones who singed me up for the contract.
I have made several calls but I am not getting joy I requested to get a recording to verify what I signed up for against the service that I have received and billed wrongly.
I requested to speak to a supervisor but the person who was assisting me was not willing to escalate the matter.
I need assistance because the owed to me is close to R20 000.
Thank you
