MTN *********

Good day all. Just wanted to fill you in on my experience I recently had with MTN which I've had continuous contracts with them for the past 12years+. My Phone broke over the weekend and I was in desperate need of a replacement. I had my eye on the S23 FE which is perfect for my needs. I went to MTN Stoneridge and app**** to get the device with no minutes or airtime (just the device) as I have an existing minute and data contract with them. The cheapest deal they had was R649 per month which I accepted. They didn't have in stock and Id have to wait till the next day. I went home and did my research on the S23 fe and found Takealot and many more other resellers was sell them for R10999. Over a 36 month period I would of paid MTN R23364 which sounded outrageous. I did some more research and found MTN website has the same exact phone with 200min and 2gb data for R499 over 36months. This seemed to be a way better deal that what I offered IN STORE. I returned to the store this morning and Tsidi told me that deal is impossible. I told her that Id rather just get in online seeing that she was powerless to honour what MTN shows online. I thought that She would at least try do something about the discrepancy but nope. And just so we all on the same page the MTN website says nothing about online exclusive deal or phone trade in needed. Ive just app**** online, just waiting for an agent to contact me now. Just thought I'd bring this to attention as I feel like I almost got taken advantage over and how many other of their customers took contract in store when obviously online offers better deals. It just doesn't make any sense. You would think going into the store, you'd be getting the best available deals they have to offer. I find this very underhanded and ********* as there are lots of people that don't by online.
