Firstly I'd like to start of by saying , I've been an MTN Client for over 5 years and never had an issue with them but this one takes the cake.
Sometime last year MTN had a data special for around R299, so I decided to take the contract out. I've noticed that at the end of the month they Debit me more then I'm supposed to be paying. I have a cellphone contract with MTN which is R799.00 so if you add that up it brings you to a value of R1098.
Before I took out the phone contract last year March 2018, I had a contract which I was paying to a value of +- R649.00 this included insurance on that device. So naturally when you take out a new contract you expect MTN to cancel everything that was on the old contract.
But no they did not cancel the insurance on the old contract. So now I'm paying R1700.00 every month for the past year. Which brings you to a total of R20 500.00 where I'm supposed to have paid R13 176.00 . I have brought this issue forward with the MTN staff members as well as the MTN call center. I've had no joy , so from January 2019 I've decided not to pay the account, till this issue is resolved, when I spoke to a call centre agent again , he told me not to pay anything until MTN resolved the issue. I ofcourse have the Reff number from that call agent.
Today 11 May 2019 I get a call from a Collections agency telling me that MTN has brought my case forward and if I dont pay MTN is going to have me Blacklisted. I was furious. I have no issue sorting my account out, but how much longer are we going to let companies like MTN take advantage of us.
If anyone can please assist me in solving this issue I would really appreciate it.
Best regards,
Best regards,
