MTN 135 - How to Get through to a Customer Service Rep
There is no transparent way to speak to a MTN service consultant using the 135 customer service number.
From MTN replies to this very question on other threads, it seems you're told to press 0 get a consultant. However, if you dial 135 this is not a listed option (at first) - if you press 0 anyway you're told its an invalid option. Sneakily, however, you need to let it cycle through the options a few times (each time telling you they cannot help with self-service as you didn't select an option - think it was 3 times in my case), then only does it offer you the option to speak to a consultant by pressing 0. From there, its the simple matter of watching your children grow old while you wait on the call centre gods to smile upon you and a consultant to pick up the phone.
Honestly, its like the secret door behind the bookshelf in the haunted house, or page 2 on Google. Only the truly desperate are found worthy.
I understand the need to manage call centre resources and direct as many people to self-service as possible, but a really despicable tactic, especially when you've been over-billed and the store that caused the issue tells you they can't help and that you've got to speak to a consultant, which is seemingly impossible as MTN leaves it to customers to find out how to use their resources.
