MTN ... 1 WEEK NO RESPONSE..Unbelievable

SALES SALES SALES......CUSTOMER SERVICE ! WHATS THAT??? Last year took out a Xperia Z3 from clearwater MTN consultant sold the phone very well not leaving out anything in her script, she also took the liberty of advising us that this is the ONLY WATER PROOF phone on the market and was best selling. We took out the phone under the impression that this Will one day be an advantage as it also has an UNDER water camera. In April 2016 used the phone for 5 mins went snorkeling and the phone switched off.took the phone back to MTN repairs as this may have been a factory fault.consultant who assisted us had left the company and one of the staff confirmed that this is a water resistant phone and not what we expected. He did advise us that if Sony found that the phone had water damage then they would not accept liability.a week later got a call from the acting manager stating that they will not fix the phone and we will have to pay a release fee.I mean come on.if we were under the impression the phone was not water proof would we have used it.now we sit with a broken phone, still having to pay a monthly fee and MTN made there money.this Will be the last time I ever take out a phone at a company that's more interested in sales and not adding value to its customers life's.

Thank you for posting.

Please accept our apologies for the break down in service in one of our touch points and for any inconvenience experienced.

Please note that the reason the handset got damaged is due the USB cap being damaged. If the unit is not closed properly or there is a damage on the caps unit, water will go through the unit. Please contact the Repair Help Centre helpdesk on ********** 349 for a full fault report including the photographs of the device.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and would like to assure you that we are actively working to improve our service levels.

That is utter bull****.the covers were closed for the 30 seconds that the phone went into the water.no fault report was provided.we were just told that this is water damage and we cannot be assisted.

no one at any point offered to repair the device and be charged.we were just told we apologise cellphone is not covered. Now we have to pay more than R500 on a monthly basis for a product that was false advertised.

The last time I will ever use the service provider.
