MTN

I got an SMS from MTN on the 4th Sep 2019 stating that "My upgrade has been successful", I immediately phoned them as I didn't apply for an upgrade. They told me that an application was done by their third party compay Quadrant and gave me the reference number UV***. I asked the consultants at MTN to withdraw the application as I didnt apply. I was told they can't withdraw the application, it has to be done by Quadrant which doesn't make sense to me, why would I as the customer phone in worried that someone is committing ***** in my name, and you refuse to withdraw the application, telling me that you have to investigate first before actioning the request. An invoice will be issued which would mean I pay extra whereas I notified them as soon as I got the SMS which would have made it impossible to send out whatever device was being taken as an upgrade because I phoned in as soon as they issued the approval which would have meant they haven't sent out the device. I again phone MTN on the 5th Sep following up on this query as noone had phone with any update, I spoke to Andiswa who informed me that no cancellation request was done when I initially called on the 4th when i spoke with Christa, Fumani and Valencia (from quadrant, who refused to give me any information about the company or her surname when i was asking so i know whom to follow up with, and that just looked a ***** company to me, I work for a financial institution and know that you have to give the customer your name and surname). I phoned MTN again today, a full week after i logged this issue with them, and nothing has been done, instead I've just been told that i may be charged for the upgrade even though i didnt do an application with them. I would love to know whom they spoke to for this upgrade to be initiated and why when i phone in and cancel, it takes them more than a week with no feedback when i was told it would take 48 hours for me to get feedback. I am definitely going to cancel my contract with MTN, they've become the worst network provide in recent years for sure and it's only getting worse by the second.
