Most Terrible Network (MTN) is the worst network by miles

How do you impose a service of the disruptive nature as your new "reserved for data" feature without conducting proper market research where I can have a say? I have come to believe in the strongest possible terms that MTN is a despicable network provider through various crises that have marred its position in the market; with Vodacom taking the reins as SA's biggest network with good cause.

MTN has taken away the control of the customer as is proven true by the above mentioned feature. I see absolutely no feasibility in it whatsoever. R59 airtime is easily reserved for data? Why is this so? Why was the feature not engineered in a way where I, as a subscriber, are able to ‎determine the amount I WOULD LIKE to have reserved?

I am inclined to voice out my dissatisfaction on as many platforms as possible as I believe that the sentiments herein expressed are held by many who in their own capacity have found no good in MTN's continued disregard of them!‎ It is utterly nonsensical that I have to restart my phone each time I need to make a call as all my airtime would have been reserved, irrespective of the amount thereof. I demand parity on this issue! Please remove this service NOW!!! IT IS NOT USEFUL!!! Furthermore, kindly advise on how to port from MTN to competing networks?

Good day Tshepiso Mametela,

Thank you for taking time to raise your concerns with MTN.

We value your input and also appreciate the time you took to raise your concerns with us because it is only through constructive feedback that we can identify and improve in areas that need our urgent attention.

Kindly be advised that the airtime is reversed for data when your handset is connected to multiple internet pages. We advise that you close off all the internet pages you are not using. You may also reboot your handset to release the airtime that is reserved for data.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards,

Ayanda
