MISSION TO CANCEL CONTRACTS WITH INCOMPETANT AGENTS

Tried cancelling my home wifi contract via email taken out through MTN. Was directed to call Mondo. Called Mondo advising them of cancellation and requested a reference number so that I could pass on to agent at the store that I would return the router to. Was advised that I did not need any reference, just to return it with my account details. I was still unsure if this would work as I had done this previous to my upgrade, the agent at call centre redirected me to cancellations and another agent advised again that I did not need any reference.

When you go instore, the wait to be assisted by an agent is always an average of 45 mins to an hour. Agent only looked at router and insisted cannot help without any reference number.

This is extremely frustrating and cumbersome for working class people like myself. I am forced to pay for the wifi that I have completely stopped using since 10 February. In the interim, I have cancelled the debit order. Mtn should contact me now to effect the cancellation successfully.

Furthermore, when I called MTN to take out the home router contract, unbeknownst to me, these calls end up with Mondo. I get a bill directly from MTN, but when call them to discuss this, I am redirected to Mondo. This is highly ********* and not transparent behaviour on Mtn's part.

Guess what? Called Mtn on Tuesday (29.04.2025), explained situation to an agent. He was quite sympathetic and advised that, he cannot give me any reference number for cancelation. The agent instore should have helped in getting this contract canceled. Said I should go back and email him when I'm there and he would call and assist in completing the process. Got there today (Mtn Gateway), led him 3 times, no reply. So anyway the agent instore now suddenly says they cannot accept online cancelations. I must now go to Mtn Coastlands. Can you believe these guys? Apparently they changed cancelation policies and all online purchases only at Mtn Coastlands.
As I stated before, I'm not using their service from February. To cancel this contract is such a mission, seems impossible right now. But they want me to continue paying for it even though not using it ,until I cancel it, which they are making so difficult. If I don't pay for this service that I am NOT using, this will affect my credit scoring. Is this fair?

I'm beyond angry now and hope others learn from this. Please do not support Mtn.
