Misrepresentation and unresolved inquiries

I a so disappointed with mtn for the unprofessionalism that they showed me after taking a contract with them through a third party. A consultant called Mohamed Aboo from Mondo called me telling me that I qualify for a sim card deal with mtn . As you where they got my number from is still a mystery to me . He told me about a 50gig sim only deal for R199 per month and that I qualify. I wanted a device and he said I had to take the sim only deal for the first three months to qualify for a device. That sounded like a good deal to me because R199 is what I can afford without having financial strains.

After receiving my SIM card a bill was sent to me that stated that I had to pay R325 for prorate and connection fee because I took the contact in the middle of the month . Mohamed never mentioned this , he even said he would not include the R70 fee and that “ I sound like a nice person “ and that I wouldn’t need to pay for it .

Now I try to call back the number countless times , the number does not exist. I called mtn the whole of last week only for them to tell me that I must contact Mondo as they are the ones who are able to cancel and attend to my inquiry. Abulele Magidigidi is one of the people I called and she could not assist me , she gave me Mondo’s numbers but calling the numbers given , one of them just play music for 1min and hangs up , the other one they give you options and when I choose an option it say “ sorry I did not understand the option that you chose” then it says they are experiencing a high volume of calls and hangs up .

I also spoke to a lady from Mtn and she said she would escalate the matter to Mondo and that that was all she could do for me and that if I wanted to cancel they contract I must pay a cancellation fee. This company makes money off of cancelation fees which is quite pathetic.

I requested to be contact by Mondo and a lady called me . I tell her that they misrepresented themselves and never mentioned the additional costs that I have to pay therefore I wish to cancel my contract . She said I must call Mtn as they are the ones that can cancel my contract and that the department that she is working In does not deal with cancellation and obviously I was furious and I was asking her questions she couldn’t answer and she hung up the phone . I called back the number there is no surprise “ the number you have dialed does not exist”. Hoooooooow when you jus called me ?????????

What I find quiet insulting is the fact that these two companies are playing cat and mouse with me and they are stalling so that I pay the R325 and they keep sending me to each other . I’m not crazy and I don’t appreciate the lack of service that is different from when they were selling me a product . Now that they had a sale I can’t even get a hold of them . This is wrong and the fact that a lot of people are complaining about mtn and Mondo and none of them have rep**** to these complaints show that their operation is al about ******** people and forcefully charging them amounts that were never made aware to the customers .
