Misleading upgrade due date

So I took out a Iphone 11 contract on 14/06/2019. "Next upgrade" date on my MTN App is 14/06/2022. When I went into the store Rosebank Mall store earlier, the person assisting me advised me that I will need to pay in R2000 If i want to upgrade now because I am only due on 14/10/2022. When I showed them the date on my app they did not have a reason and stuck to the 14/10/2022 date. That would mean I served the entire 36 months with no early upgrade available as per the norm.

The only reason I've stayed with MTN for so long is due to the early upgrade option few months earlier. If I am to see out the entire 36 months, I am most definitely going to move over to Vodacom.
